If you are a Carer and would like to attend any of these groups or events then all you need to do is register with us first.
Carers Groups
We offer groups in Trowbridge, Bradford, Melksham and Westbury (for Westbury & Warminster Carers) on a monthly basis, plus occasional groups for Parent Carers, Working Carers and Male Carers. All Carers are invited to attend the groups; however, if you have not been before, please telephone the office so that the support worker is expecting you.
In general, the monthly groups meet as on the calendar above, however, please check the dates as they may be subject to change with Bank Holidays etc, and the venue will be different if there is a lunch. Activities include speakers on a variety of information and experiences, lunch out (Carers pay for their own meals), and occasional trips. A support worker facilitates each meeting. Tea and coffee is available - donations appreciated.
Parent Carer Group
These meetings are at various locations as they are held jointly with Carers Support North Wilts; please check each meeting for the times and venues, in the monthly tables.
Training
Training opportunities are open to all Carers. They are all FREE to Carers, and some include lunch as well. Funding is from Wiltshire Council.
Pampering
On the last Thursday of each month (except December) we offer a range of therapeutic breaks for Carers. These include Mini Manicures, Mini Pedicures, Reflexology, Mini Facials, Reiki, and Indian Head Massage. These are FREE to Carers, as they are funded by monies received from the Government via Wiltshire Council. Priority is given to those who have not previously had a treatment. We telephone about 2 weeks ahead of the date to book appointment times, and send confirmation thereafter.
NOTE: Manicures & Pedicures - please remove your nail varnish beforehand. If you have a potentially infectious condition we regret that therapists may be unable to offer a treatment.
Outings
We offer a range of outings each year. These are usually FREE to Carers, again being funded by the Government through Wiltshire Council, however we are asking for a non-refundable deposit of £5 where we have to buy tickets in advance. Non-Carers are welcome to join most outings: a donation of £5-10 towards the cost of the coach (depending on the length of the journey), and the cost of any admissions will be requested. We will pickup for outings from the ILC where there is free parking. If you need transport to get you to the ILC we will assist with this.
