Carers Support West Wilts Volunteers offer their help in various ways and give varying amounts of time depending on their availability. All help, no matter how big or small, is of great value to the organisation and, more especially, to Carers. Below are some of the volunteering opportunities we have:
Breaks for Carers – sitting with the Cared for person in order to give the Carer a little time to his or her self
Befriending – one to one support for Carers. A befriender makes contact with a Carer, either over the telephone or in person, and supports them by listening and being there for them.
Fundraising – mainly collecting at supermarkets but joining in any other fund raising opportunities that arise
Carers Magazine - Packing and/or delivering the magazine three times a year to save us the cost of postage
Driving - Transporting Carers to and from our monthly support group meetings, pampering appointments at the ILC and/or CSWW days out and events. All expenses are reimbursed.
All Volunteers receive a quarterly newsletter and have the opportunity to attend the occasional social event. The first week in June each year is Volunteers Week when the Volunteers are invited to a ‘thank you’ event so that everyone at CSWW can show their appreciation to our much valued Volunteers.
Volunteering is great experience which allows people to learn new skills as well as use the skills they have already. Our Volunteers all thoroughly enjoy their participation in the organisation and there is a role available to suit everyone. All out of pocket expenses (petrol costs etc) are reimbursed to you by CSWW.
