My name is Kelly and I am the Carers Mental Health Support Worker. As well as supporting Carers where someone close to them is mentally unwell I also feel passionate about delivering training to support all Carers in their caring role. Research shows higher levels of stress, anxiety and depression due to the demands of the Caring Role. The training I deliver is based on a self-help style which offers tools and techniques to manage mood with examples specific to the Caring role. There is no pressure to talk in the training sessions.

Training sessions I have offered in the past include:

  • Stress Management and Relaxation Techniques
  • Anger Awareness
  • Overcoming Low Mood
  • Relaxation, Assertiveness and Confidence Building.

I have also run a course specifically for Carers of Mental Health called “Skills Based Learning for Caring for Someone With a Mental Illness”. This was run over 4 consecutive weeks following a tools and technique style. Feed back from this group was highly promising and we will be looking to run it again.

Look out for current training in our newsletter and our What's On page. If  there is some specific training you would like to be run please do Contact Us and request it.
