The Carers Support West Wilts Focus Group meets every 2 months in the Conference Room of the Independent Living Centre, Semington on a Friday afternoon from 2.00-4.00pm.We have 19 Carers who receive the Minutes and Agendas and generally 8-10 Carers come along.
The meeting is very friendly and informal and generally one hour is dedicated to local issues and feedback from any other Meetings that members have agreed to attend on the group’s behalf. The other hour we either have a speaker on an issue that has been raised by the group or we may have someone visit with regard to a Consultation they are undertaking such as recently the Library Service re their support to Carers or Health Service with regard to End of Life Care.
Get Involved
We are always looking for Carers to join the Focus Group. Should you wish to come along to a Meeting because you have seen an item on the Agenda that you are interested in we would appreciate a call so that we are aware of numbers for catering. Alternatively, please feel free to contact us if you feel a matter should be brought forward to the group but you are unable to come along.
There is an expense form for travel expenses and your time and you can also claim if you incur additional care costs to enable you to attend. Should transport be a difficulty we can arrange a lift if you could contact us beforehand please. There is no obligation to come to all meetings what so ever and some members come regularly whilst others opt to come only very occasionally.
