a personalised and individual service...
Upon registering with us you will be given a specific Support Worker depending on where you live and your individual Caring circumstances. They will then be there for you as and when you need them. Should there be a time when they are not available there will be someone else you can talk to for support and your Support Worker will ring you back as soon as they can.
a confidential listening ear...
Whatever it is you need to talk about; you can call CSWW and someone will be there for you. Rest assured that what you say will be treated with the strictest confidence unless there is any element of risk to yourself or those that you care for.
We do our best to ensure we can provide Carers with all the information they may need whilst caring. Requests for information could relate to:
Resource Library
We have a large amount of useful literature and leaflets relating to caring. If we don't have to hand what you require then we are always happy to research something for you.
Newsletter
CSWW produces a magazine three times a year which includes all the latest news, what's on and other relevant reading material which may interest Carers. It's distributed to all Carers registered with us. Alternatively, you can download our latest newsletter.
If you are a Carer and need someone to talk to then our Support Workers are here for you.
CSWW offer a range of services that can help Carers to have some valuable time out:
Pampering
On the last Thursday of each month (except December) we offer a range of therapeutic breaks for Carers which are held in "The Little Room" at our office in Semington. Therapies we offer include:
Mini Manicures
Mini Pedicures
Reflexology
Reiki
Indian Head Massage
All of these pampering and complementary therapy sessions are FREE for Carers because they are funded by monies received from the Government via Wiltshire Council.
Outings
We offer a range of outings each year. These are usually FREE to Carers and are funded by the Government through Wiltshire Council. If we have to buy tickets in advance then we will ask for a non-refundable deposit of £5.
Non-Carers are welcome to join most outings: a donation of £5-10 towards the cost of the coach (depending on the length of the journey) and the cost of any admissions will be requested.
For details of pampering and outings we have planned for the forthcoming months, please take a look at what's on.
We hold group meetings for all Carers who are registered with us and they take place in the four main areas of West Wiltshire:
Bradford-on-Avon
Melksham
Trowbridge
Westbury & Warminster
Each of the Carers groups take place once a month and each tends to be on the same week each time.
There are also occasional groups for Parent Carers, Working Carers and Male Carers.
All Carers are invited to attend any of these groups but if it is your first time could you please contact us to let us know you are coming so that your support worker is expecting you.
Activities at each group include speakers on a variety of information and experiences and lunches out.
To find out about groups you could attend, including where they are held and the activity taking place, please take a look at What's On.
Kelly Reilly, our Mental Health Carer Support Worker, frequently runs training sessions and workshops which provide Carers with the opportunity to learn skills and coping mechanisms that could help them in their caring role.
For more details of the training Kelly runs and previous topics she's covered, take a look at our training page.
CSWW can offer Carers a befriending service, including telephone befriending, which is provided by our group of volunteers.
Befriending can offer companionship and provide an important link with the local community. Our befrienders can visit you in your own home or meet you out and about and our volunteer coordinator will do her best to match you to someone who shares similar interests.
We also have a Breaks for Carers service where a volunteer will sit with the cared for while the Carer has a break. For more details on this and other voluntary roles we have, see our volunteering page.
